Setting:
Outdoors, night

The Altar:
· big gold candle (Lleu Llaw Gyffes, the Sun)
· big silver candle (Gwydion)
· brown candle or bear statue (the Great Bear Constellation, Artos)
· Cauldron (renewal, rebirth, inspiration)
· Plant (world tree, earth)
· 3-wick candle (sacred flame of inspiration, fire)
· Caregl filled with water (well, water)
· Brightly colored altar cloth
· Incense, jewelry, coins, food, and other offerings for Llyr, Lleu, Gwydion, Taliesin, Bear/Artos and others
· tarot cards

On Hand (under or near altar):
· Pitcher of water and empty goblet
· Paper and a pen/pencil
· Lighter/matches
· Small flashlight
· optional: star map (get from web)

Sacred Ritual time:
(creating sacred sphere)

(speak)
The Solar wheel turns -- bringing me to the season of the Ever Lengthening Day -- Father Winter.
From the realm of Earth, I receive balance and grounding.
From the realm of Sky, I receive shelter and sustenance.
From the realm of Sea, I receive strength and renewal.

To the West, I honor depravation and the past.
To the North, I honor shadows and darkness.
To the East, I honor the sacred and the future.
To the South, I honor intensity and light.

From the fire in the head to the burning of the feet,
surround me with a sphere of protection,
preparing me for the Divine I am to meet!

(spoken)
I am here to honor Grandmother Universe and Mother Gaia in their divine forms. I am here to make offerings to my deities and devas. I am here to receive inspirations and blessings.

(chant three times)
Gatekeeper, Llyr, open the Portals,
Between the devas and the mortals.
Power freely comes forth and flows,
Transforming my magick ‘til it grows.

(spoken)
As my Ancestors did, so do I now. I am here to offer worship to Lleu Llaw Gyffes, the Sun God who dies and is reborn.Llew Llaw Gyffes, Golden-haired One with the Skillful Hand, Cup-bearer of the gods, shape shifter of the eagle, I call upon you!
(offering to earth, fire, water)

As my Ancestors did, so do I now. I am also here to offer worship to Gwydion, the great Magician God who brings the Solar Eagle back to life. Magical Gwydion, Son of Dôn, Animator of Trees, and shape shifter of stag, sow, and wolf, I call upon you!
(offering to earth, fire, water)

Taliesin,Great Bard of Wales! Prophet and poet! Born before, within and beyond Ceridwen, I call upon you! Writer of living words, and dead tales, I ask you for inspiration!
(offering to earth, fire, water)

(write now for a few minutes, then read poem/prose aloud)

Great Bear Constellation, Artos the Bear! Changer with the seasons, giant in the starry sky, I ask you for divination!
(offering to earth, fire, water)

(Meditate on constellation [try not to get star struck] and ask a question aloud.)
(pick one tarot card and meditate on meaning)

In this magickal time, I have communed with the Divine, and now I shall envision blessings that the future holds....

(See it clearly in my mind's eye.)

(Next, fill the goblet of water, seeing the blessing I desire filling the cup. Drink the water, and grok the God-ness and Goddess-ness of Awen and All..)

(chant three times)
Now dark grows shorter, light grows longer,
Sun returns and light grows stronger.
In magick and belief I affirm,
My offerings -- buried, drowned, and burned!

(chant– closing the portals)
Gatekeeper, Llyr, please close the portals,
Between the devas and the mortals.
Gatekeeper, Llyr, god and king of the Sea,
Please close the portals and turn the keys.
